The tour beings with a brief tour of historic downtown Charlottetown. We then take a scenic drive to Borden-Carlton with a stop at Victoria by the Sea, a picturesque sea port village where history is around every corner. Victoria is well known for its playhouse and offers many live stage productions throughout the year to those who are patrons of the arts. Then we continue on to the Confederation Bridge also know as the fixed link. For an extra hour fee, you can choose to cross the bridge and gain bragging rights that you crossed over the longest bridge over ice-covered water in the world. The construction of the 12.9 kilometer bridge began in 1993 and the engineering landmark had it’s grand opening in 1997. It connects our marvelous island to mainland Canada. We stop for picture ops at this point and head back to Charlottetown through out rolling hillsides of the central part of PEI with a brief stop at the Cow’s Creamery at the causeway in North River. Cow’s Creamery Ice cream is voted as the world best Ice cream by Mac Lean’s Magazine and Reader’s Digest and has won many awards around the world for its products. So, get yourself a cone and enjoy!
